What Digital Camera Do You Recommend?

i’ve had the pentax touch-screen camera, but alas it has broken after 2.5 years of using it extensively. rip
anyways, i need new digital camera, and would love a new touch-screen. i’ve tried the coolpix one, but really dislike the horrible quality of it. any other cameras u would suggest? (either touch-screen or not…) and preferably with a big screen…
my budget is around $300 or less if possible. my main focus is the picture and screen quality.

I am aware the fuji is not SLR and the Nikon is (dont mind, not necessarily looking for an SLR, just a good camera that will allow me to experiment!) i can get the s5800 brand new for £87 thru asda, as i work there with staff discount etc. however i’ve seen the Nikon D40 and i am aware these are more pricey (around the £150 mark i can get it for)
should i wait and save up for the D40 or is the s5800 a good camera and a good price?

Changing From Film To Digital?

Hi there, I am quite new to photography and have just bought my first film SLR- a Canon EOS 500N. I am slowly getting the hang of things but have a question about advancing to Digital when the time comes.
People have told me a digital Canon EOS would be the way to go as my lenses would be interchangeable; my question is, would the lenses from my film SLR fit any Canon DSLR, or only specific variations?

PS, if I decided against a Canon for whatever reason, what would be another brand to try out- a friend recommended Pentax for a cheap, sturdy SLR for a serious beginner…true?

Is there a limit to the size of SD card used with a digital camera? I have a Pentax Optio 30, and wondered if I could put a 1 or 2Gb card straight in there. Would there be a noticable difference in buying a 10mb/s card over a 7mb/s one?

So far I have purchased two fuji digital cameras. I am not satisfied at the length of time it takes inbetween pics. I need something quicker. Any suggestions? My new fuji camera also makes blurred pics. Help me find me the perfect camera!
